Fairfax County’s Proposal to Increase the Population Density of Reston
Wednesday, September 20th
7 – 9 PM
Reston Association’s Conference Center
12001 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191
Fairfax County is recommending changes to the Reston Planned Residential Community (PRC) zoning ordinance that would allow:
• an increase in the number of persons per acre in Reston’s PRC district from 13 to 16; and
• a significant increase in high-rise multi-family buildings
We will share with you why these changes are being proposed and the impact on our open space, traffic, schools and other public facilities.
We invite you to ask questions, and share your views and concerns.
This informational meeting will prepare all for a community gathering called by Supervisor Hudgins to hear the County’s own explanation on September 25.
Let’s come together to ensure we can continue to say “Reston is a planned community”
and NOT “Reston was a planned community.”

RCA sincerely apologizes for the scheduling conflict with Rosh Hashanah. Coordinating a meeting place and speakers ahead of the 9/25 County meeting caused us to make the difficult decision of this date. The meeting will be recorded and will be available for subsequent viewing on the internet, which we hope will help prepare citizens for the County’s meeting on September 25th.
This all about putting $$$ in the builders pockets and they don't care if it ruins Reston. We have enough issue with increased traffic due to the addition of Metro. Now on top of Metro traffic they want increase density. This is pure INSANITY!
You scheduled this meeting on the first night of Rosh Hashana. Do you not want the Jewish community involved? Do you not have a calendar? Or do you not care? Whatever your excuse, it is no excuse for excluding the Jewish community.
