The nominations are in. The candidates have been reviewed. And the winner will soon be announced!
Earlier this month, the Citizen of the Year Selection Committee met to review this year’s pool of nominees. With a tremendously qualified field, this may have been the toughest choice to date. But the committee has made its choice, and they will present their selection to the RCA Board for approval at Monday’s meeting (January 27th).
Once the RCA Board finalizes the winner, we’ll let everyone know about the winner in this space and in other local media. And as always, we’ll have a ceremony to honor our Citizen of the Year (date to be announced). The 2013 Citizen of the Year’s name will be inscribed on the plaque that hangs at RCC Hunters Woods. The winner will join such past honorees as Janet Howell, Embry Rucker, Dave Edwards, and last year’s winner, Cate Fulkerson.
Stay tuned for the announcement next week!
